Addiction doesn’t stick to a schedule, and your recovery will be a lifelong process once you’ve made the decision to get help. But how long does detox and rehab take? There are generally some guidelines on what to expect, depending on the particulars of your situation.
At The Mend, the detoxification process can last as little as three days to as long as two weeks. During this time, our staff of professionals focuses on helping you get clean in a medically managed facility. We’ll help make the withdrawal process as comfortable as possible, potentially through the use of safe and effective medications. From there, we’ll help you stabilize and begin the first steps towards your new life.
Once detox is complete and your system is free and clear of all chemicals, the next step is to decide if you would like to continue recovery with inpatient residential treatment. Other aftercare options may include sober living, intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), or outpatient treatment (OP).
The Mend’s boutique focus means that every step you take towards freedom from a substance use disorder will be customized to your own spiritual, emotional and psychological needs. How long you take to make each step is up to you, as well.
Starting your healing journey at The Mend means you’ll participate in rewarding clinical group and one-on-one therapy sessions. Breathwork sessions, meditation, music therapy, self-care and recreational outings, among other activities, are all techniques we use can contribute to deeper healing and continued success once you leave our care.
To sum it up: Everyone’s path is different. At The Mend, we will work with you to develop a detox, residential treatment, and after-care plan that fits your life and goals.
