How do you really know if that wine every night is becoming a problem? Or if popping a pills to deal with stressful situations is veering into addiction? Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired? Do you need detox?
A substance abuse assessment can help determine if you have an addiction as well as the severity and nature of your potential substance use disorder. The process also explores what role, if any, mental health issues could be playing in your drug or alcohol use.
At The Mend, you will begin the process of understanding your addiction from your very first call with one of our care coordinators. Our kind and experienced staff will listen as you explain where you’re at with your substance use, and where you’d like to be. Together, you can determine if detox and further addiction treatment could be right for you.
Our professional care coordinators will discuss your current substance use and history with you. We will also attempt to get a larger perspective of your life in general. The evaluation, however, is not a one-sided process. You will be able to ask questions as you explore the possibility of entering detox.
As the assessment continues, we will be better able to understand the nature of any possible addiction while working with you to map out your needs and plans for the future.
The evaluation’s goal is to come up with the right treatment plan for your particular situation. Once the process is complete, you will always be the one to determine if you are ready to enter a detox program and begin the recovery process.
Once you enter the facility, though, the conversation will continue. All of our staff members will be eager to learn about you and your needs, so they can help.
If you’re ready to explore beginning recovery with the help of a detox or residential treatment program, contact one of The Mend’s care coordinators to discuss your options.
