Our Aftercare Planning

The recovery process doesn’t end after completing detox and residential treatment.

At The Mend, we encourage residents to pursue aftercare.

AFTERCARE PROCESS

Our aftercare process helps protect each resident’s hard-won recovery:

  1. Discharge planning begins one or two weeks prior to the anticipated discharge date and typically involves an intake assessment with staff from the aftercare program. We work to ensure that each resident’s discharge plan sets him or her up for ongoing success in the recovery process.
  2. If a resident decides he or she doesn’t want to purse outpatient addiction treatment, we will provide the resident with 12-Step meeting schedules and other resources to continue recovery.
  3. However, most of our residents discharge right into the care of one of our trusted aftercare treatment partners.
  4. Even after discharge, our team will stay in touch with former residents to see how their recovery is progressing and if we can be of service.

ALUMNI COMMUNITY

Once you come to The Mend, you’re family.

Our alumni take part in weekly panels at the facility, social outings and off-site 12-Step meetings.

The Mend’s staff, residents, and former residents are all part of the growing, vibrant recovery community in Orange County.

We believe in the benefits of fellowship during all stages of the recovery process.

We

Understand

We strive to provide professional, timely, effective and individualized interventions to assist our clients. We value each client’s potential and we work hard to help our clients recognize and identify their own potential to assist them in a successful path to recovery. We understand that clients are in treatment to learn how to live their lives effectively and we do not expect them to have all the answers. We recognize relapse can be a part of recovery. We understand and accept that a critical element of treatment is educating the client in making effective and productive choices/changes, which is accomplished by focusing on positive rather than negative actions, attitudes, and behaviors.
